Our backbone of BGP routers, virtual machines, general servers, and hypervisors each carry a unique hostname, allowing us to identify and locate them within seconds. For labeling and reverse DNS, we operate the 256k.net domain: every server runs under a 256k.net subdomain. While multiple hostnames can be assigned to a single server, the reverse DNS on our networks will always resolve to 256k.net.
